Prose

Gates of Eden is my third unpublished novel (I should really do something about that?) about Ben St. Martin, a copy writer for an advertising agency who abruptly quits his job to pursue a career in writing. Raised by his staunchly Catholic father and his California hippy mother (spoiler: they’re divorced), Ben’s religious conflictions and life goals come to a head when he meets Adelaide, the seemingly girl-of-his-dreams. Adelaide’s religious convictions push Ben to new boundaries as he reconsiders…well, everything. Chapter One

A Simple Twist of Fate is my second unpublished novel about Liam Gibson, an eternal optimist and romantic living at home with his father as he works at a retirement home and squirrels away money to move to New York and pursue being an artist. The death of Liam’s mom and the break-up with his high school sweetheart still haunt the recent college graduate; luckily the elderly residents of Resting Oaks Retirement Home can offer their wisdom. In this sample chapter, we find Liam in the middle of a shift: Chapter Ten.
